Burger King

What techniques are they using?

Bribery

If you buy one kids meal, an I-dog comes with it! An I-dog is a dog that you can plug your MP3 Player into and it will act like a speaker. It also dances along with the music. Real I-dog are actually expensive, so is this the real I-dog?

In some Burger Kings, they also use Play Places to attract kids. The Play Places have slides and tunnels so kids can eat and have fun! Well those Play Places carry so many germs its easy for kids to get sick.

Symbols

This is Burger King's main logo.  They use it as their sign out front and if you see this somewhere you know the ad's for Burger King.

Burger King's major symbol is the King. If you see him in an advertisement, you know the ads for Burger King!

In this commercial,

Burger King is not only using "The King". They are also using the Simpsons to advertise.

Another symbol of Burger King is its most famous meal. The Whopper burger. Everyone knows where the Whopper burger comes from!

Big Lie

Burger King tells us that this Icee drink is nutritional, but is it?

When it says the ingredients, its made up of carbohydrates, sodium, sugar, and calories. Under protein and Vitamin C, there is nothing!

 Testimonials

In this picture, you see Burger King is using spongebob to advertise their food.
Why did they use spongebob?
They used him because they know that he is a very popular character.  He is a kids character so when little kids see him they want to go inside Burger King. Also, he's big so anyone who sees him from a far distance might want to go and check him out to see what he is.

In the larger concept of ad campaigning, you have identified real issues...but the images you have included don't really reflect all the messages you refer too--for example that ICEE's are supposed to be healthy. How is that expressed?
