GUINNESS IS BEER

This is a picture of the Guinness label. It is a symbol because the white on black makes it look important and is very catchy. The gold also makes it look kind of royal.

This is one of the ads for Guinness beer that uses humor. The man is taking off his face which isn't something you see everyday. Sometimes it is bad  because when kids see these ads they might want to drink beer because they think it is cool to "Reveal your darkside." And its cool because the guy is taking off a mask of his face and revealing a devil face. It also uses flattery because it's like you have 2 sides to yourself and you never get to be dark but if you drink the beer then you can reveal your darkness.

This is one of the original Guinness ads. Below the word "Guinness" on the ad, its cut off but it says "good for you" using the big lie techique meaning that beer is good for you, but it really is lieing to you because beer isn't at all good for you. People might want to buy it because you drink it more often then you might get healthy.

The words say "good things come to those who wait."  What they are trying to say is that if you wait then you will get good beer (such as guinness). They're trying to tell you that when you pour guinness it is slow and the bubbles take a long time to pop, so "good things come to those who wait" implies that if you wait for the bubbles to pop then a good thing will come to you. This uses flattery by saying your patient, and deserve something good after waiting.

As you can see in this picture there is a guy pouring a lot of beer and marketers might use this for an ad because it might be saying that if the guy is pouring so much Guinness beer then people like it a lot. Then they might be convinced that they need to buy some Guinness beer because he's pouring so much and so many people like it therefore you wont be "in" if you dont drink this beer. This uses plain folks because he's a regular person selling beer to regular people.

http://www.strangecosmos.com/images/content/117751.JPGIn this picture there is a squirrel and people might want to buy Guinness beer because they might think that the squirrel is cute because hes drinking beer.  If they think he is cute then they might want to try the beer he is drinking so they can be cute as well. You may think that if squirrels can drink guinness then you can too.

As you can see in all of these ads all they want you

to do is buy Guinness because they want you to spend your money

and they can make money off of all the people who buy it.
So don't fall for it!
