Symbols: Persuading through the use of idea-conveyances or sending ideas to other people.

A symbol is something that associates one thing with another.  Symbols are rarely used by accident or chance, they are put in for you to remember the brand, company, or product. The golden arches of McDonalds is a good example of a symbol.

Symbols are often used to help people to remember the company or product.  For example the Apple picture we have up above has the apple symbol that everybody reconizes as macintosh computers.  So whenever they see that symbol they know the product is made by apple.  It is kind of like the apple signature.

 Got milk symbol is a well known distinctive symbol that everyone knows.  People  before they even see the got milk sign just by seeing the symbol they know it's for Got Milk!  There is normally two symbols in Got Milk ads that advertise two different things.  For example in this ad it advertises Got Milk and the movie Superman Returns.
